In Sana’a, Yemenis men wear :
- Traditional thoobs : a loose ankle length robe with long sleeves. It is usually white.
- Around the waist, a belt with a dagger, the djambia.
- On top of the thoob a black or dark blue jacket, western style.
In the morning market of the Old City, vendors sell their stock of thoobs that they pile on their shoulders. Images taken in 1992, on the main square of the Old City.
